Dorchester is the easternmost terminal of the CTA's Green Line. It is located at Dorchester Avenue and 63rd Street in Chicago, IL. It opened on September 17th, 2016 when the Green Line was extended from Cottage Grove to Dorchester. The original Dorchester station closed on January 13th, 1973, and was planned to become the new terminal of the Green Line's East 63rd branch, but the residents of Woodlawn weren't keen with it. Cottage Grove was the terminal of the Green Line from 1996 to 2016. In 2015, the CTA approved a plan to extend the East 63rd branch and build the new Dorchester terminal and intermodal facility. Dorchester opened on September 17th, 2016.
